However, you undermine your position when you state: one thing I knew for sure was that in Genesis 19, God destroyed Sodom and Gomora for their grave sins, specifically their acts of homosexuality, which implied that God opposed homosexuality.
Well, the one thing you know for sure is ….. simply wrong. No reputable theologian reads the passage as you do. Most read the passage as a duty to hospitality. Love thy neighbor is its distillation. Come to a more accurate understandings of Genesis 19, and your other welcoming perspective is enhanced.
